The Active AirClean filter features active charcoal for neutralising unpleasant odours in the air – ideal for pet owners or smokers. Never experience the awkwardness of visitors noticing the unwanted smells you may have grown accustomed to.

The Miele KK is compatible with Swing H1 and S1, while the U bag is made for the Dynamic U1 and S7.

I really like the design of the Boost and that it’s light and manoeuvrable. In use, it has plenty of suction to get wooden floors and carpets clean. What I’m not a fan of is the clip that holds the three cleaning accessories as it’s situated right at the point where my hand grips the vacuum wand. Of course, you don’t have to attach the clip, but then you won’t have the attachments easily to hand. Miele Boost CX1: Also consider Alternatively, you could opt for Miele's other bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner range, the Miele Blizzard, which features twice as much capacity, and an extra metre of cable length and has a much more sensible on-body storage system for the attachments. The downside is that it weighs 2.9kg more than the Boost CX1 (8.7kg vs 5.8kg).

The CX1 body and single cyclone produce prodigious suction and a huge amount of airflow, translating through the floorheads into highly efficient cleaning. Yes, the EcoTeq head will clamp down on carpet on the highest power setting as if it’s lead-weighted, but on the carpet and rug settings it balances great suction with far easier manoeuvrability. hard floor head has high friction and does not glide smoothly across the floor, but kind of grinds its way across (better on tiles, terrible on lino planks)No, or rather you can actually reuse the bag through a janky method but it’s a false economy that will lead to dust leaking out and you ending up having to replace the motor which is much more expensive. The same goes for buying off-brand bags, they don’t filter as well and will end up doing more costly damage to your vacuum over time. If you ask people who already own a Miele vacuum how long they’ve had it. Most of them will tell you they’ve had it for at least 10 years! So all vacuum cleaner makers had to comply, but it made them work harder on efficiency because they didn’t want to lose suction. The Total Solution Allergy has the best air filter with the all-powerful HEPA filter. It also has a parquet head which is great for delicate floors such as laminate or stone because it’s got softer bristles. But unfortunately, this model is no longer for sale.

Shark make upright vacuums mainly so again have better performance than most of the Miele’s but comparable with the Blizzard CX1. All of the tools, the flexible hose and the steel telescopic tubes are well designed and built to last. In particular, the tubes are robust, if not light, and extend with ease thanks to a large collar that releases the clip mechanism. We found that half-extended was good for floor cleaning, with the extra length useful for high-up cobweb busting. Finally, it’s got a dual air filter in it to make the air in your house feel fresher. Not a bag choice at all when it comes to a robot vacuum. On hard floors both the EcoTeq and SRD heads were excellent at capturing loose hair balls, thanks mostly to the CX1’s high suction and airflow. On occasion, hairs can become caught on the bristles of the EcoTeq head, but the stepped cut-outs in the bristles help to reduce this effect. The Cat & Dog head pushes that cleaning performance up another notch, and not just for pet detritus. The beating action of the brush bar agitates dust and dirt free from the carpet pile, cleaning carpets deeper and more efficiently than is possible with the standard EcoTeq head. The only thing you have to do is make sure you clean out the filter every 6 months. And if you’re in a house with long hair then you’ll need to clean out the brush that will get wrapped with hair. But a small price to pay for an appliance that could last you 20 years. It’s also almost 9kg which is heavy for a cylinder vacuum cleaner so lifting it upstairs could be more difficult, if you’re fit and healthy you’ll be fine, however. Miele put the work into the durability of their vacuum cleaners and it pays off in a vacuum that’s built to last.

My top choice for the best Miele Vacuum Cleaner, the Blizzard CX1 powerline Bagless vacuum cleaner. All of those coolness does come at a cost though, it’s an expensive vacuum, but it actually does as good a job as a regular vacuum cleaner so all you have to do is empty it and you’re house will clean itself. hard floor head squeaks loudly with every stroke, while annoying and painful to hear, this is only an inconvenience Just like the C1X, there are a couple of different models of the C3, the cat and dog and the Total Suction Allergy.Emptying the enormous bin is as simple as holding it over you dustbin and releasing the large flap. The internal layout of the cyclone resists debris becoming caught up around the main circular filter gauze, so it empties cleanly all of the time. None of the CX1 models are really great for stair cleaning, but the Cat & Dog nudges into the lead here thanks to the extra manoeuvrability of the Cat & Dog head.
