To be the player with the lowest score at the end of the 11th round by making your entire hand into books and/or runs. J♦, or 6♦, 7★, 7 ★, 9 ★ . You can have as many wild cards or Jokers in a run as you wish (and they may be adjacent to each other). Each player will need space to arrange their cards in front of them and keep score, so a table or flat surface is recommended. I’m not going to share this with the people, but I will share this Five Crowns winning strategy with you!

Now, this is where things get different! While some of the cards might seem familiar, others will be entirely new to people. Five Crowns, as the name implies, uses five different suits. The player to the dealer’s left goes first; before attempting to make runs/books take either a card from the draw pile or the top card from the discard pile. Then you can play any runs or books you have. You must have at least one card left in your hand to discard at the end of the round.Deal: Shuffle all cards together and deal 11 piles: 3 cards in the first pile, 4 in the second, 5 in the third and so on until you have 13 cards in the eleventh pile. Arrange each of the piles faceup in a way that you can see all of the cards. The remaining cards create your draw pile. When all of the cards in a pile are successfully arranged into books and/or runs, it is closed and can be flipped over. Continue playing until all the piles are closed (you win) or the draw pile is depleted (try again).

A lot of good players will use the same cards to go for multiple books at a time and open up the odds of getting a card that works for them.

Books

Jokers are always wild. The additional wild cards for each pile are different. They are based on the number of cards each pile was dealt. For example, the first pile has 3 cards, so 3s are wild for that pile. If you’re getting down to the end or someone has gone out, don’t just throw any face card down to lower your count.
